Curatorial note

Seen at curb level, the work's split trunk anchors the frame, a large broken limb wedged through the central joint with pale wood showing. Since February 2026 acquisition, it has occupied the curb at 1232 S 20th St, presenting a winter-silence record of the street. The tangled bark and branches against overhead lines foreground a quiet study in urban resilience and abrupt change within South Philadelphia.
