Seen at street level, the longitudinal trench runs diagonally across the frame, its ragged, exposed sublayer contrasting with the surrounding asphalt. Acquired February 2026, this work records the ongoing cadence of municipal repair as it intersects the everyday rhythm of South Philadelphia streets. The green edge of a painted bike lane along the left margin and the snow piled along the curb root the piece in a winter cityscape, situating the repair as a persistent feature of the curbside.
