Curatorial note

Seen at Spruce Street crosswalk, the longitudinal fracture traces the outer crosswalk stripe, its fissures threading the pale paint into the dark asphalt. Acquired January 2026 and on view for 102 days, the work bears the patina of ongoing use, evident in the worn crosswalk bands and network of microcracks. The curbside placement situates the piece within the rhythm of traffic and pedestrian flow, recording the street's routine as a quiet, persistent condition.
