Curatorial note

Seen from the curb along Columbus Boulevard, the work sits at the threshold where a chain-link fence meets a litter-strewn lot. A yellow bucket and a mound of plastic bags, cardboard, and other refuse lie in the foreground beside a dark automobile, with leafless trees and an elevated overpass framing the scene. Acquired January 2026, this piece anchors the South Philadelphia collection and records the long-standing accumulation of urban detritus as a formal feature of the streetscape.
