Curatorial note
Seen at the corner of East Passyunk Avenue, the tactile red paving block at the curb anchors the crosswalk rhythm against the dark asphalt. Since its acquisition in January 2026, the corner has maintained a persistently legible trace of striping amid traffic and weather. As a durational record of municipal surface markings embedded in brick and storefront, the work participates in the East Passyunk Crossing collection and expands the museum’s chronicle of Philadelphia infrastructure endurance.
