The Patch in Place, Parrish Street — North Philadelphia
Asphalt pavement, patch fill with coarse aggregate, weathered surface
Streets Department, est. 2026
111 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen at the curb, a pale rectangle of coarse aggregate within asphalt anchors the roadway beneath the vehicle’s door. Since acquisition in January 2026, the patch has persisted on Parrish Street, now 111 days on view. The museum notes that this durational intervention foregrounds the persistence of municipal repair as a permanent feature of the streetscape, inviting contemplation of how such repairs coexist with ordinary traffic.
