Curbside Barriers at Rest, East Passyunk — South Philadelphia
Metal bollards, asphalt, concrete curb, nocturnal illumination
Streets Department, est. 2026
19 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen at night, the displaced bollards anchor the corner’s edge, their white forms leaning along the curb. Since acquisition in April 2026, the work has occupied the streetscape, presenting a durational register of municipal hardware. The piece belongs to a small subset within the Passyunk streets program that treats street furniture as a persistent presence rather than a resolved intervention.
