The Car at Rest, Belmar Street — Philadelphia
Automotive, stationary, maroon finish, rear mounting holes visible
Police Department, est. 2026
82 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen from Belmar Street, the car’s rear bears two circular mounting holes at the center of the trunk where a license plate would be fixed. Since acquisition in February 2026, the work has occupied the curb for 82 days, a durable presence on the block. The museum regards it as a quiet, formally modest addition to the streetscape, a record of time and materiality as urban life persists.
