Tarped Vehicle at Curb, Long-Term Presence — Manayunk
Automotive, tarped, curbside, winter accumulation
Police Department, est. 2026
89 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen in the photograph, a black sedan is completely shrouded by a dark tarp, its surface catching a bright reflection along the front fender. Since its acquisition in February 2026 as a commission of the Police Department, the curbside car has occupied the street for 89 days, a quiet record of winter mobility. The work anchors the streetscape at Manayunk Ave, contrasting the tarp’s matte surface with the brick façade and the yellow entrance door. Its durational presence emphasizes the ordinary choreography of private objects in public space.
