Curatorial note
The ribbons braided through the hair catch the light and frame the face. Since January 2026 this portrait has occupied the curbside edge near 1244 W Harold St as a beacon of personal ornamentation within the streetscape. Among the works in the West Philadelphia collection, this piece foregrounds presence and performance as durable aspects of urban life.
