Curatorial note

From its curbside position, the tire anchors the composition as a jagged fissure threads a line along the pavement beside it. Since acquisition in January 2026, the crack has persisted at this exact edge, inviting close inspection of the ordinary fractures that structure the streetscape. The piece remains part of the South Philadelphia collection, a durable record of urban materiality in situ.
