Curatorial note
Seen at midday, the work anchors the curb on a residential street where a wooden fence and a rowhouse form a quiet backdrop, and the car’s dark body mirrors the sky along its doors. Since January 2026, after ninety-nine days on view, the piece has occupied this edge of the street as a durable presence within the South Philadelphia streetscape. The museum regards it as a record of urban edge conditions and the material life of public space.
