Curatorial note
Seen at the edge of shuttered storefronts, the brick wall is interrupted by a broad black mesh panel and a patch of white plaster beneath. Since acquisition in January 2026, the work has occupied the curbside with a patchwork of plywood coverings that record the texture of ongoing exterior maintenance. The piece anchors the streetscape as a longitudinal study of urban surface durability in West Philadelphia.
