Curatorial note

From its position at the fence line, a gnarled vine winds along the weathered surface, its bark rough and brown against moss-dark planks. The pale blue-gray railing in the foreground creates a frame that foregrounds the plant’s ascent along the boundary. Acquired January 2026, this work anchors the West Philadelphia collection as a durable record of urban vegetative persistence on the street edge.
