Curatorial note

Seen from the curb, the upper window trim is a map of age: white paint chipped and peeling, with exposed wood grain. Since acquisition in January 2026, the porch ceiling and trim have continued to shed paint, forming a dim, shadowed layer under the eaves. A cardboard box on the entry step and a white downspout beside the column anchor the work in Germantown, East as a long-standing fragment of the street.
