Streets Department, est. 2026

In conservation

The photographic record of this work is undergoing conservation treatment and is not presently on display. The work itself remains in the permanent collection.

Curatorial note

From the foreground, the circular manhole cover anchors the surface as a patch of dark asphalt records wear across the lane. The patch is framed by a white SUV on the left and a red fire hydrant near the curb, situating the work within the Olney streetscape. Acquired January 2026 from the Streets Department, this surface study sustains a durable register of the block’s remediation history.
