The Car at Rest, 1954 Granite St — Frankford
Automotive, stationary, maroon finish, dual exhausts
Police Department, est. 2025
126 days on view
Curatorial note
Seen at midday, the maroon minivan anchors the curb on a Frankford block of attached houses, its rear end facing the street. Since acquisition in December 2025, the work has stood as a quiet longitudinal presence in the street scene, with the pumpkin on the nearby porch offering a seasonal detail. The museum notes the car’s glossy surface reflecting the row of facades, situating the piece within the quotidian loop of private life and public curb.
